Co-founder Christian Bentzen studied Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and chose to specialize in neuroinformatics. He graduated in 2004 with a master thesis concerning learning schemes of cognitive systems. Current topics of research are dendritic learning, information theory in neurons and neuron models in Evolutionary Algorithms. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in Synchronization in Neural Systems and Neuromodulation at dept. of Physics at DTU.

Co-founder and CEO Allan Hammershøj holds a M.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specialising in chip implementation of artificial neurons in cooperation with Emil Heinze. During his study, he has focused on corporate management, patenting and technical economy.
